how culture can shape society
Book 2
In book 2 I aim to develop my ideas of protests in society and focus more on the difference in culture in areas I have studied. By continuing to look at the BLM side of the recent protests I want to incorporate the propaganda style of work with Fairey to create meaningful messages in art form using styles from Tom Phillips. In addition to this, I want to portray the messages through my own media of photography, digital and lino pieces to further my studies. Of course, these will be backed up with research of artists and galleries that will enable me to understand and develop my ideas leading up to my final piece at the end of the book.
I passionately agree with the statements that my art is illustrating and I hope that my work will inspire people to stand up for something that they believe in.
PORTRAITS
In this section, I aim to research a gallery in London which photographs influential black figures and produce my own which I will paint based on the style of the artist Joshua Miels.
EMORY DOUGLAS
In this section, I aim to research the influence the artist Emory Douglas had on the propaganda in the Black Panther magazine and understand his style of work to develop into my own style moving forward.
FINAL PIECE
In my final piece, I aim to produce a series of photos of a poster hung on the buildings I have previously photographed, that summarises my project and encompasses all the different styles and cultures I have explored throughout.
